Do you travel for photoshoots?
Absolutely! Travel within 20 miles of Hillsboro, OR is included with your session. Locations beyond 20 miles may require an additional travel fee based on distance. I'll always confirm any travel costs with you before booking.
Can I use the photos for social media and marketing materials?
All photographs taken by Kate Vargas Photography remain the copyright of the photographer. Clients are granted a personal-use license, allowing them to:
• download images
• print images
• share images on social media
Images may not be:
• sold
• edited or altered
• used for commercial purposes
without written permission from the photographer.
What should I expect at a session?
• My photography style focuses on natural moments, genuine smiles, and relaxed interactions. The goal is to create images that feel authentic and joyful.
• If you have specific poses in mind, please feel free to bring those ideas along. Otherwise, I’ll guide you through the session. The session will be mostly candid with some posing.
• Children are welcome to be themselves. Some of the best photos happen during natural moments.
• Mini sessions are 15 - 20 minutes long, standard sessions are 30 - 40 minutes long and full sessions are 45 - 60 minutes long. All types of session take place at the scheduled time. Please plan to arrive about 5 minutes early so we can begin promptly.
• I will bring along a little Bluetooth speaker – we can jam out to what you like and bring your session to life.
After the session, your edited images will be carefully delivered through a private online gallery within 7–10 business days.
Mini sessions include 10 - 20 edited digital images, standard sessions include 20 - 30 edited digital images and full sessions include 30 - 50 edited digital images.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Life happens — if you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify me in writing at least 48-72 hours before your session date.
Cancellations with notice: If you cancel with at least 48-72 hours notice, your session fee will be issued as a credit toward a future session, valid for 6 months from your original session date. No refunds will be issued.
Cancellations without notice: If a cancellation is made less than 48-72 hours before your session, the session fee will be forfeited.
Rescheduling: You may reschedule your session once at no charge, provided you give at least 48-72 hours notice. Additional rescheduling requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Weather policy: Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled if weather conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for photography. Weather rescheduling will always be handled with flexibility and we'll work together to find a new date that works for us both.

How does payment work?
Upon booking, you will receive a contract and invoice directly via email through my client portal. Payment can be completed securely online through the invoice link.
Mini Sessions ($75): Full payment is due upon signing to confirm your session date.
Standard Sessions ($150): Full payment is due upon signing to confirm your session date.
Full Sessions ($300): A $75 non-refundable deposit is due upon signing to secure your session date, with the remaining $225 due at least 48 hours prior to your session.
Any applicable travel fees or add-ons will be included on your invoice and are due according to the payment schedule for the session booked.
Will my photos be shared online?
Only with your permission. I always ask before posting client images on social media, my website, or other marketing materials. Your family's privacy and comfort are important to me.
Do you offer retouching or body modifications?
All final images receive professional editing, including color correction, exposure adjustments, cropping, and my signature finishing style. I may also make minor retouching adjustments, such as removing temporary blemishes or small distractions.
My goal is to photograph you in a way that feels natural, flattering, and true to you, so I do not include extensive retouching or alterations to a person’s natural appearance as part of standard editing. This includes body reshaping and significant alterations to skin, teeth, hair, scars, birthmarks, or other physical features.
If you have a specific retouching request, please reach out before your session. Some additional retouching may be available for an additional fee depending on the request.
